Why is the practice support worker for the company doctor calling me
Do you have an appointment for a phone call with the occupational health nurse (POB)? We do that to have a brief consultation.
The reason is often that the answers you provided when reporting sick are slightly different from what your employer entered. To quickly clarify and prevent misunderstandings, we will give you a call.
The triage conversation
We call this conversation a triage conversation. Don’t worry: it’s not a long or complicated intake, but a short and concise chat of about 15 minutes.
What do we discuss?
We keep it simple and goal-oriented:
What is the situation?
What do you need?
Do we expect the absence to be short or long?
That way we immediately know whether more help is needed and we prevent confusion about what will happen next.
