Have you created an account for a manager? The next step is to link the correct employees. Without this step, the manager will not see any files in the portal.

{% hint style="warning" %}

### Why are authorizations important?

**Privacy and rights:** A user only gets access to the employees to whom he or she is specifically authorized. This protects the privacy of colleagues outside the manager's team.

**Targeted alerts:** The manager is provided with alerts in the portal based on the tasks and moments within the Gatekeeper Improvement Act. By linking employees correctly, the manager receives only the notifications that are relevant to their own team.
{% endhint %}

#### The difference between Employer (WG) and Manager (LG)

Users receive rights based on their role in the portal:

* **Role Employer (WG):** The customer-side administrator often has access to the full overview and can create new users without limitations.
* **Role Manager (LG):** When creating an account you choose the role '2 LG - No link' or '4 LG - Link via system'. As a result, a manager will by default still *no* employees appear in the list. You must always manually set who they get access to.

#### Three levels of authorization

You can set a manager's authorizations at three different levels.

1. **Company level:** The manager gets access to all employees within the entire company.
2. **Department level:** The manager gets access to all employees within one or more specific departments.
3. **Employee level (Client level):** You manually check for each individual employee whether the manager is allowed to view the file.

*Handy: Do you link a manager at company or department level? Then you no longer have to maintain this manually in the future. All current and new employees within this group will then be automatically added to the manager's overview.*

#### Step-by-step: Set authorizations

1. Log in to ZekerArbo Online and go to the menu **Customer users**.
2. Find the relevant manager in the list.
3. Click the shield icon behind the name (**Authorizations**).
4. Choose the desired level (Company, Department or individual Clients) and check the appropriate data.
5. Click **Save**.

The manager now has immediate access to the files of the linked employees.
